Madhu, comment allez-vous?(How are you?).

Bonjour,
When I joined hostel in JLB road, I was allotted room number 115 from which I shifted to room number 18 in next 15 days.
In a couple of weeks, Madhu became my roommate. He was there in the room for the next two years. He was silent, always smooth tempered, not into any controversies which is exactly opposite of me who wasinto swinging temperament, always picking up controversies and blabbering (at least in a limited circle) . I used to trouble Madhu a lot, which increased once he shifted to room number 24( or 25?).
Madhu was a reluctant partner in many of my endeavors. Once we went to do angling in Cauvery, Srirangapatna and ended up catching 4cm fish :-(.
I forcibly took him to bird watching with Mysore amateur naturalists(MAN). In fact, after couple of months, I lost touch with MAN but he continued its contact and I think, he is having contact with its members now also.
Best was searching for a french teacher!. One fine day, I said to Madhu we shall learn french. As usual Madhu agreed. But where is the teacher? and nobody knows!. Somebody gave one address in Jayalakshmipuram. We went there. He was a retired ambassador. though he was old, but was full of health and energy. he gave us good one hour lecture about learning Sanskrit than french. Then again our search continued. Finally we found one in St Aloysius college. His name was John Mathias. We paid fee of Rs700/- for three months(I think and not sure.) both of us(atleast I was) are tired by the end of the three months!.
After MBBS results, I went along with Madhu to dinner in Lalith mahal. I tried to eat nan (a dish) with bread knife, fork and spoon and ended up spoiling the whole table!. That was my first experiment in a five star hotel !.
Now also when I am in high spirits with whatever the reason  and in late night, I call Madhu. First thing I ask him is, whether he is sleeping?. he obviously says, yes. I  tell him that I am very happy to disturb him !!!. He , as usual gives his mature, cool smile which I can imagine!!
Uber cool, Madhu.

au revoir

Lokesh
