Bangalore Muncipal corporation is laying machine cut granite slabs on the pavements. It looks grand, neat and what not....... But I am afraid to walk on those granites. Not because of fear of sliding and ending with broken bone. Because they are going to disappear very fast. Granite slabs are neither interlocked, nor fixed irreversibly!. Slabs which are present during day will not be there in the night and vice versa. Happily walking on nice pavement while going through all your mails will definitely end me up in missing slab gap & into drainage!!!. Ofcourse, officials, corporators, MLAs, ministers, contractors have made millions in this job of pavement beautification!. It is the turn of common folk to take slabs & make merry!.
I still remember picture in Baily & Love where 'fall in man hole' causing urethral rupture.
