Shivaji, guerilla and Blacks.

Fight between cops & Maoists has become routine in north eastern part of India.
15 years back, I read about guerilla warfare in Indian History and went on a small trip to check the history!!.
Shivaji had to fight Auraghazeb to retain his power in present day Maharastra. But logistically and BY experience Aurangazeb's armY wAS far superior. One advantage of Shivaji was his excellent knowledge of local terrain, which was present day Sahyadri hills or western Ghats. He started fighting guerilla warfare against Aurangazeb (If I am not wrong, during our high school one chapter was dedicated to this fighting where shivaji used monitor lizard to climb a fort ! ). He hired blacks from Portugese for guerilla warfare. Portugese used to bring blacks from Ethiopia as slaves. These blacks settled in karnataka, Goa. In current karnataka, they are found in yellapura, siddapura, zoida taluks of Karwar district. They are called as 'Siddis'.
In 1996, I went to siddapura, yellapura, zoida to see them. They are also said to be present in Goa where portugese colonized. But I didnot see any in Goa or probably my eyes were blurred when I was in Goa !.
