Hi Daya/Mini/any other Rheumatologists,
I have a case who is a 23 yrs female with left main coronary artery stenosis(TA aetiology ) which we stented today. The PET scan, done by rheumatologist here, says there is no inflammatory activity & hence needs no anti-inflammatory medications. I have a previous experience which is not so sweet which made me to post this mail.
Previous case of TA - 28 yrs, F, with left upper limb claudication found to have left subclavian artery stenosis. Stented. PET- no inflammatory activity(ESR, CRP within normal limits). Not prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. But within 3 months developed restenosis.
If current case develops restenosis will have catastrophic effect. So should anti-inflammatory medications be started despite of no inflammatory activity?.
